Lead Preconstruction Strategy for a Top ENR General Contractor

TrendHR is partnering with a Top ENR General Contractor in Dallas to identify a Chief Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating strategy, oversee major pursuits, and drive preconstruction excellence.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for guiding teams, influencing project wins, and shaping the direction of preconstruction across a growing division.


What You’ll Own

  • Lead multiple large-scale estimates and manage teams of estimators
  • Develop conceptual and detailed estimates, including benchmarking
  • Execute across delivery methods (Hard Bid, GMP, Design-Build, IPD)
  • Partner with operations on schedules, staffing, and financial strategy
  • Drive pursuit strategy and position projects to win
  • Collaborate with clients to define scope, budget, and expectations
  • Lead budget reviews with clients, designers, and trade partners
  • Allocate resources and forecast departmental capacity
  • Mentor, develop, and lead estimating teams
  • Present estimates and strategy in client interviews
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors
  • Identify trends and implement innovative preconstruction strategies

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ years of construction experience
  • 5–10+ years leading large, complex estimates and teams
  • Proven success at the Senior Estimator / Preconstruction leadership level
  • Deep understanding of all phases of preconstruction
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high-value pursuits simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency with estimating and construction tools (P6, Bluebeam, Sage, Destini, BuildingConnected, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost strategy
  • Ability to align preconstruction efforts with business and operational goals
